Fuller's (leased)
Fuller's Chiswick, London Pride; Gales HSB, Seasonal or guest beer

Sean and Craig Deacon-Adams took over this pub in 2010 and have doubled the number of real ales and improved the quality. The pub contains three bars, although the large back bar is mostly used for functions. The small public bar is quiet and the traditional atmosphere is even maintained in the larger bar, which has the pool table annexe. The pub is in both darts and pool leagues, has two 6-a-side football teams and sponsors Hayes Alexander Football team. Quiz and Chips is held on Wednesdays in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care and bingo on Sundays supporting the local branch of the MS Society. Other events including regular live music sessions are listed on their website. A beer festival was held in 2010 with another one planned for April 2012. Vintage, Brewers Reserve and Past Masters are available in bottles. The Angel is being considered for the London Inventory of Pub Interiors.

Greene King Ruddles Best, Abbot; Courage Directors; guest beers (2)

Large Wetherspoon pub with several drinking areas opened in 2000 following conversion from furnishers S Moore & Son. The walls are painted orange or yellow and are adorned by modern art paintings, along with a biography of George Orwell, who taught in the area but was not very impressed with it. Comfortably furnished with pine tables of various shapes and sizes, along with an area with sofas. The four games machines all have the sound turned off. There are outside drinking areas at both front and rear (which has heated jumbrellas). Barry and Gemma have been managing the pub for seveal years and run several event nights in aid of local charities.

Greene King Abbot Ale

Much improved locals pub now serving real ale. Unfortuantely the decision to only offer Abbot on handpump at the time of survey is not helpful to session drinkers or drivers. The pub offers value food with main meals starting at £3.49 and Sunday roasts for £4.49. The pool tables are on the right towards the car park.

Courage Best, Directors; Wells Bombardier

A noisy modern pub in the middle of a shopping arcade which was formerly the Wetherspoons Moon under water. Amongst the clutter can be found a pool table and electronic games and screen showing Sky SportsThere is a patio area at the rear. The ‘Famous’ prefix has now gone, perhaps the clientele did not know who he was! The pub may have changed since this 2005 review.
