Tommy Flynns (ex Grange) near Hayes End has become the Blue Lagoon meanwhile the Blue Anchor has had yet another fire which has damaged the roof. The first floor has now been demolished. (21 August)


Planning has been granted to convert the Wealdstone Inn (ex Red Lion) into a shop with flats above. (7 August)

The Castle Inn Ealing will soon undergo a major refurbishment which will see an easiser route to the secluded garden. Bar stools are to be retained following a "vociferous campaign by the regulars". Kathy has now departed as has the Thai food. (26 July)


The Olde Northwood Pub no longer offers exotic dancing following the number of complaints involved in applying for a license. The establisment will now focus on being a community pub with a fundraising day on July 27 to raise money for the Lynda Jackson Macmillan Centre at Mount Vernon Hospital. The food menu has expanded as has the opening hours. (15 July)


The Black Bull in South Ruislip reopned a couple of weeks ago after several years of closure. Real Ale was not on hand pump but could follow. More worrying is the news that both the Six Bells in Ruilsip and the Hut at Colham Green are for sale. (14 July)


A planning application to convert the upstairs of the Leamington Arms into flats has been received by Ealing Council. Although there is no plans for the ground floor and cellar, they have been earkmarked for retail. (14 July)


The Junction in Harrow started selling real ale from mid May (14 July)


The Abrook Arms in Uxbridge is to become a hotel according to the acting manager. Another loss in an area with few pubs. Meanwhile Young Brunel now serves Pride. (14 July)


Young's have announced that they have bought a pub in Ealing from Enterprise Inns - but which one? The New Inn and the Kings Arms are the only pubs in Ealing itself that Enterprise own (the EPT is leased back). Could they mean the old Redback/Acton Arms in Acton? (14 July)


Fuller's will open a bar airside at Terminal 2 in June next year called "London's Pride". They have also bought the Cornish Orchards cider producer (7 June)


The Gazette is reporting new tenants at the Woodman on Joel Street in Eastcote. It will reopen the Grade II listed pub as Arens Bar and Restaurant. (14 May)

The Bear in Wembley may have reopned. Costalex Ltd have taken over the lease co-owned by the operator of the Lodge in Ealing. (28 March)


The King George IV in Pinner may still reopen as a pub as the freeholder is advertising for a new tenant. So if there is anyone in Pinner who likes real ale and is looking for a free of tie pub - phone the number on the estate agent boards outside the pub! (23 March)


The Grand Union is Cowley is currently closed - looks like another new tenant is required. Meanwhile the function room/restaurant at the Crown is now being sublet to Kohinoor Indian Restaurant. (23 March)


The Waters Edge in Cowley Peachy removed the handpumps during a recent refurb - no real loss (23 March)


The new tentant of the Half Moon in South Harrow is Home Counties Taverns who have run the Kings Arms in Ealing. They have appointed the former manager of Nash's Bar (the pub across the road) as the DPS. (5 March)


The Crown on the Uxbridge Road opposite the county court will be renamed Ye Olde Crowne with the restaurant having its own name. (12 March)


Laurels on Ruislip High Street has closed following the leaseholder returning the lease to the freeholder. The bar was being operated on a sub-lease who are not happy that they are having to close. (8 March)


The Brook House in Hayes has been serving real ale for two years! London Pride is available at 3 a pint. The pubs landlords are taking over the tenancy of the former Crown on the Uxbridge Road. The Thomas Henry K reverted to the Music Box in September 2011 as well. (21 February)


The Royal Oak in Harrow has reopened following a 150,000 refurb. The pub was closed from February 3rd to the 14th. (15 February)


Louise Clark, a barmaid at the Kings Arms in Harefield, died on 8th January following a fatal crash 9 days earlier. Police are appealing for witnesses. More details from the Gazette.


There will be a free sampling session on 23 January 2013 from 3-5pm with representatives from Greene King at the Sir Michael Balcon in Ealing. The pub is also giving CAMRA members a 20% discount on food purchases during January. (15 January)


A meet the brewer session is provisionally scheduled with the Portobello Brewery at the New Moon, Kenton on Wednesday 30 January at 8pm. (11 January)


Pub beer festivals scheduled include the Castle in Acton from 1st to 7th February and the Angel in Hayes End from 4th to 6th April. (11 January)


The Norfolk Arms at North Wembley now has the demolition protection boards round the pub. (11 January)
