Six Bells closes again!
It has been reported that the Ruislip pub is now boarded up following a fire.

Joel Street Woodman to Close? The Hillingdon Times reports the pub is still trading. Update here. Although the Uxbridge Gazette report they will close the pub when the beer runs out in the next two weeks following a violent attack on the landlord..

Fullers Sell Townhouse
The Town House was sold by Fullers in November last year. Developers plan to convert the pub into two seperate bars or restautants and nine flats. More.

Wetherspoons pull Uxbridge appeal
With only weeks to go before the planning inspectorate made their decision, JD Wetherspoon have withdrawn the appeal against Hillingdon Council rejecting their plans for a new pub in Uxbridge Town Centre.

Spencers Homebrew Shop closes
The store in Rayners Lane has ceased trading. Supplies are available at the Mattock Lane Pharmacy, West Ealing.

Matrix burns down
The Rayners Lane pub, formally the Tithe Barn in Alexandra Avenue, has burnt down in a fire. More at the Harrow Times.

Golden Cross to be demolished?
Hillingdon Council have received plans to demolish the Golden Cross in Hayes and replace it with a 50 room Hotel. Developers promise to build a pub restaurant on the ground floor. The decision is due 4 November.

London's Best Local was won by the Churchill Arms, Kensington.

Cheap beer in Stanmore & Hatch End this week
Following the end of the recent Wetherspoons Festival, the remaining beers are being sold off at £1.39 a pint at the Man in the Moon, Stanmore, and the Moon and Sixpence, Hatch End, whilst stocks last.

Beer of the Festival - Wickwar Head Brewer Philip Downes is presented with a certificate  from Ealing Beer Festival organiser Graham Harrison
The Wickwar Brewery was awarded Beer of the Festival 2008 for their Station Porter on Saturday 18 October. Members can receive an exclusive discount of 10% on any purchases over £25 plus preferential delivery rates by contacting the brewery.
