It’s blocking the slot where the slim optical disc drive would go, but who needs a disc drive, right?

In my scenario I want to be able to install the NH-C14S where its heatsink is placed slightly to the left or to the under of that frame to be safe. The oversight for the 120mm AIO and clearance with the supplied rear fan is annoying but not cruical. I wasn’t sure I could get my fingers into that gap to plug the PSU end caps back in, but pre-bending the cables left me just enough room. I did replace the Yate Loon fan a few years ago with a BitFenix LED unit due to the yate loon bearings went a bit early. For one thing, it’s extremely easy to install: just push the corners down firmly for the plastic pins to snap into the slots around the socket.

The top panel can be slid back easily enough, giving you access to the drive slot; a nice way of having it accessible without breaking up the clean exterior design of the chassis. However, there's a light at the end of the tunnel, and if you take your time (and possibly make some concessions), you'll end up with a mini-ITX build that's actually about as mini as you can make it, if you max out the parts. Honestly, I think this C14S gives me more stable OC than the D15, maybe because its downdraft design cools the motherboard VRM better than D15 does.However I didn't make it easy for myself, having a full sized gpu (MSI gtx 1080 gaming x) was too much for the case. My personal experience is that the four NZXT systems I've built into have plastic fronts that scratch up quickly and easily. slot loading DVD drive as the normal types does not fit; slot loading drives are more expensive but do look cool! com is a leading authority on technology, delivering lab-based, independent reviews of the latest products and services.
